TAG- 6 things that make me happy

The oh so lovely Staci tagged me in this fun little get to know you!
My turn around time on this one is 23 days. Not bad. I think I am almost caught up!

Here are the rules:
List Six Unimportant Things That Make You Happy
Mention and link to the person who tagged you
Tag six of your favorite bloggers to play along, and comment on their blog to let them know they've been tagged.

Six Unimportant Things That Make Me Happy
  1. bubble wrap, I love it
  2. Sunrise and Sunset
  3. going out to eat....I love eating out and we do it every weekend, I am spoiled!
  4. I do love to cook though and it makes me happy to try a new recipe and everyone love it
  5. taking a walk with my family
  6. snuggling with my (almost) 8 yr old like shes still a baby.....we did this Monday morning when neither of us wanted to get up. She crawled in bed with me and I pretended she was a baby by laying her on my chest. She is almost as tall as me!!
and now.....
I tag all of you to do this. It was nice thinking of all the things that make me happy. I could have listed tons once I started thinking. It truly is the little things in life.....

One lovely blog Award

The awesome Lisha at Everday Life with smiles gave me this great award! Thank you!

She gave it to me in May. Is that a bad turn around time? lol

The Bella Rules:
1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you've newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

So some of 15 newly discovered blogs.....

Honestly I haven't found very many new blogs lately. Mainly because I am having a hard enough time keeping up with the blogs I already read.

Here are the people that I will pass this on to......

Tag I'm it (and I'm slow too)

A long, long, long time ago I was tagged to do this '8 thing' thing and......well, I'm lazy and have been busy. More of the lazy though but not today. Today I made time to do this! I was tagged by Denise, if you haven't been to her blog you must go. She makes me laugh with every post she writes. Thanks Denise!

8 Things I'm Looking Forward To:

1. Going to Hershey Park
2. Finding new adventures to take M on this summer (our goal is to only go to new places)
3. Train Ride through the mountains in the fall
4. The ‘End of the Year Party/Sleepover’ this Friday
5. Mother’s Day….laying in bed all day and being pampered (a girl can dream, right?)
6. Having another baby (nope, not pregnant)
7. Going on a shopping spree (that’s what The Husband is giving me for Mother’s Day)
8. Seeing my baby’s face when we surprise her with the concert!

8 Things I Did Yesterday:

1. Got my haircut
2. Painted a table (future blog post)
3. Worked an hour more than normal
4. Laundry
5. Had sex (hey I’m running out of things here….it was a Monday and they aren’t very exciting)
6. Chatted on Facebook with a girl I used to work with and haven’t spoke to in years
7. Praised M for getting a 111% on a test. (She got all the bonus work too)
8. emailed someone back that I have been meaning to do for a week now (I am horrible at that!)

8 Things I Wish I Could Do:

1. Get paid for not working. (Copying Denise on this one)
2. Work from home
3. Work part time (noticing a trend here?)
4. be psychic
5. Not stress about everything and relax
6. Take a nap everyday

10 things Tag!

Staci at Playing House tagged me for this fun little getting to know you better tag.

1. What is your current obsession?
Facebook....its still new to me but I'm getting a little bored already.

2. Which item of clothing do you wear most often?
black yoga pants.....I change into them often when I get home. That's the first thing I do is change my clothes into some comfy pants.

3. What's for dinner?
We aren't having dinner. lol We ate at my brother's cook-out around 2pm so its going to be a light evening since we aren't real hungry. M and The Husband just ate popcorn but I'm not hungry yet.

4. What are you listening to?
Drake and Josh. Drake is singing. (future post coming on this)

5. Say something about the one who tagged you.
Staci is so sweet. We have a lot in common and shes an easy person to connect with.

6. Favorite vacation spots?
I'm not a huge traveler. I like to go new places but haven't left the country yet....I do plan on doing this in the next few years. I would have to say Outer Banks, NC. I loved it before but now having M its so much fun to go to the beach, play mini golf and just have a carefree week of sun and fun.

7. What am I reading right now?
Welllll I was reading the 1st Twilight book but I just could not get into it. I don't know if its because I saw the movie first and feel like I know what is going to happen. Plus we have been very busy lately so my downtime gets used up on catching up in the Internet.

8. Four words to describe myself.
organized, sensitive, moody, naive

9. Guilty pleasure?
the Internet. Even though I could be making better use of my time I still love to check in on my various 'things' on the Internet.....message boards, blogs, facebook, email, etc

10. First spring thing to do?
Open my windows. I love to open the windows in the house and let some fresh air in after being closed all winter.

Now I am going to pass this onto some quiet followers to get to know them better. Typically these things go to the people you know best but I'm going to do the opposite this time.

Mom of the Year Award

Mel, who is just the greatest (really!), gave me this Mom of the Year award. How exciting! I certainly don't always feel like it but I'm sure all moms are like that.

Rules for Mom of the Year Award:
Admit one thing you feel awful about involving being a mom.
Get it off your shoulders. Once you've written it down, you are No Longer allowed to feel bad. It's over with, it's in the past. Remember, you're a good mom!
I feel bad that I don't ever 'play' with Madison. Its gotten better since she has gotten older and into more things. I always have to remind myself in a few short years she is not going to want to do anything with me. Teenagers and all. I have been making more of an effort lately and it feels good to have a little balance.

Remind yourself you are a good mom, list seven things you love about your kids, you love doing with your kids, or that your kids love about you.
These are the things to remind yourself everyday that you Rock!
1. I love that Madison has opened up and isn't nearly as shy as she was when she was younger.
2. I love that she likes to listen to real music now
3. I love talking to her about all her little friends and just 'keeping in touch'
4. I love going on walks around our neighborhood and just talking about everything
5. I love that she thinks I am the perfect person even though I am far from it.
6. I love that she thinks she is going to live at home forever and even work with me....at this point she just cant imagine life without me
7. I am so proud of how well she does in school
Send this to five other Mom's of the year that deserve credit for being great moms and remind them that they are the best moms they can be!! Remember to send them a note to let them know you've selected them, and add a link to the person who nominated you.
Now I didn't check any of your blogs to make sure you hadn't already received this...so I apologize if I'm giving it to you for the second or third time around. I nominate the following bloggers...

Kris at JesseKateDesigns-she truly is Mom of the year with all of her great ideas!

Tanielle at Polka Dot Daisy- Her kids always look so cute and they let her do incredible things with their hair!

Heidi at Mommy doesnt live here anymore- I love to read her stories...they always make me lol

Jodi at Our crazy life- She makes me wish I had a fun toddler!

Obnoxious SAHM she always makes me laugh at her crazy antics
This was hard! There are so many great moms and everyone deserves this award!!

More Awards!

I think Mel really loves me! She is just the bestest!! She gave me these awards like 12,789 days ago but I haven't posted them yet, the slacker that I am! whoa look at all those exclamation points I used. I wont bother to change them just so you can see how excited I am to finally do these awards.
First we have the Lemonade award (is that the real name?):

Here are the rules for the award:
1) Put the logo on your blog or post.
2) Nominate at least 10 blogs that show great attitude or gratitude.
3) Link to your nominees within your post.
4) Let the nominees know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5) Share the love and link to the person from who you received your award.

I'm going to copy Mel, who copied Jen, and give this to everyone who comments on my blog. Your comments make me want to keep blogging.
____________________________________________________________________

I'm supposed to nominate 5-10 blogs that show Attitude and/or Gratitude.

Here are my 5 nominations for SASSINESS:

Confesssion Tag

I was tagged by Mel to do some confessing!

Confession Survey

1) What is your blogger name?
That Girl
2) When is your birthday?
Sept 23 (I will accept any and all gifts, thanks!)
3) How long have you been blogging?
I started my blog Sept 2008 but I only did a few posts until Jan 2009. Once I really started posting I became obsessed.
4) Who tagged you?
Mel
5 ) Tell me your 5 most favorite body parts:
are you serious? people have 5 favorite body parts? My eyes?
6) What do you wish most for your birthday?
I am one of those annoying people who say they don’t want or need anything.
Bor-ing!
7) What color are your nails now?
Nothing on them, I plan on putting a pale pink on them this weekend. So girly!
8) Any depressing thoughts lately?
Sadly, I always think of depressing thoughts. The power of the mind is incredible. I am obsessed with crime stories (more on that later) and that is quite depressing. 9) What's your next 1 month's plan?
OMG, we are so busy with things to do until April 24. Seriously we have something to do every weekend.
10) At what age did you have your 1st crush?
The first one I remember was in 6th grade (I have like no memory of my childhood)
11) Did you attend any school reunion after you graduated till now?
NOPE!
12) Have you ever passed gas in public and pretended you didn't smell anything?
That is quite an odd question. Maybe?
13) Are you a clean freak?
I am!
14) Which era do you wish you were born into?
I wouldn’t change anything.
15) Are you a vegetarian?
No, I would starve. I don’t eat a lot of veggies.
16) How many pillows do you sleep with at night?
3, two of them for my head and then I have a snuggy pillow that I’ve had forever. (gross, I know but I just don’t think about how old it is until times like this)
17) Are you a light sleeper or an I-don't-care-if-there's-a-bomb-here sleeper?
I am a little of both. I fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow and I am out but I do wake easily.
18) Do you secretly wear comfortable granny panties when your man is not around?
I only wear non-sexy ones when I have my period. Period Panties.
19) What is your ultimate dream job?
Social Worker but I don’t know that I could actually do it. I would get so involved in my cases and there is no way that I would be able to disconnect that.
20) What is it your hubby does that annoys you the most?
Rambles. OMG, seriously, just give me the facts or cut straight to the point.
21) What is your dream car?
I’m not a big care loving person. I have a new Honda Pilot and I love it right now so I guess that’s my dream car of the moment.
22) Do you easily wake up in the morning?
I am sooooo not a morning person. My alarm clock is set 20 mins fast, I hit snooze 3 times……can you tell how much a chore this is? It makes no sense because I am forced to do math, which I hate, in my head at 5:30am. I like to torture myself though.
23) Do you like hairy men?
Eww no. I am a very anti hair kinda girl. I don’t even like a lot of head hair.
24) How about goateed men?
Yes, I love goatees, as long as they aren’t long. I saw one guy who had like this goatee he was trying to grow down to his belly button or something. Ew!
25) Which one would you prefer, 2 hour spa, 2 hour Thai Massage or 2 hour foot massage?
2 hour Thai massage, I guess. How is a Thai massage different from a regular massage? Ah, whatever, I will still take the massage.
26) Have you ever wished you had a different name other than your real name?
Yes, I think my name should be Autumn because of the first day of Autumn being on my birthday. When I was born my name was either going to be Kelley or Jennifer. Jennifer if I had blonde hair and Kelley if it was dark. Both are fairly common names sooooo (talk about rambling!)
27) What is the most extreme sport you have ever done?
Hmm this question is not for me. I am in no way an extreme kind of girl. Im a big chicken!
28) Do you prefer traveling in Europe or Asia?
Well…….Ive never been to either so I don’t know. Lets go with Europe though.
29) What is your favorite food?
Everything? Sweets, junk food, pizza, red velvet cake, oh I could go on and on about all my fave junk food but I wont bore you.
30) What is the most embarrassing moment when you were out on a date?
I have NO idea. I think I block stuff like this out. Im healthy like that.

Here are the rules:
Copy and paste the whole questionnaire and replace my answers with yours. You have to create a link for the blogger who tagged you. Pass to 4 other bloggers. Display the logo anywhere on your blog. Last, answer each question with the truth, and nothing but the TRUTH...this is a confession tag, you know.

Another award

It must be awards week! Jen is such a sweetie to share this award with me. Thanks!

“These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”

This was to hard to pick who to pass this on to so I am passing it on to everyone.
I now present you with this award to pass on!
