Extreme Makeover--Me Edition-Week 1

I am participating over at Amber's blog in Extreme Makeover--Me Edition. This is about weight loss, getting healthy, and learning from others.

I started exercising and calorie counting in Jan and since that time my weight has yo-yo'ed 5lbs. Really, its been kind of annoying. I get happy for losing the weight and then it comes back. I just don't get it. Maybe I get over confident? This is the first time in my life that I have ever had to watch what I eat. I was always the girl who could eat whatever she wanted. I ate junk all day and didn't gain a pound. Age is slowly stopping that. blech!

Today's question: Do you have any low calorie snacks that you'd like to share?

I eat pretzels every. single. night. I like to snack while watching TV, I know that's not good but I allow myself enough calories to still eat at night. So I count out my 19 mini pretzels and The Husband and I watch TV and snack.....him eating junk food but it doesn't bother me because I am still eating something.

I also love the Curves Apple Streusel Bars and Chex Mix Turtle Bars. I posted about them before here and here. There is also info in there about the calorie counter that I use at

Have a great week and remember this is a work in progress!!

Ooooo yeah...those chex mix bars...mmmm, just like candy! I actually found them at my local dollar store. Yep. one. dollar. per. box. Needless to say I loaded up :)

You're really doing well with all your foodie stuff!

Have another great week!

I love your positive attitude, girl! Or should I say girliegirl!

I love to snack in the evening too, and I totally forgot to share my low cal foods, oops!! But I love Orville Redenbachers 98% ff Kettle Korn. You can get the mini bags for only 1 pt each!! Or if you're really snacky, an entire bag is only 4 pts. Or sort it into bags and only eat half. Anyway, it really hits the spot, and it's sweet & salty!

Keep it up girl! Have a great day!

I know what you mean about suddenly having to learn to watch what you eat. I remember right after I graduated I used to work at the mall. I would have a Macho Nacho from Taco Maker EVERY. DAY. The works, meat, beans, guac, sour cream... Now if I even think about it I think I gain a pound!

I'm going to have to check out those chex bars!

I have been yo-yoing with 5 pounds since January too and I'm fed up!

I'm realizing that I have to exercise if I want to see results.

Great job with the snack...counting out the amount of pretzels instead of mindlessly eating.

Your pretzels sound good. I can make it through the day, but at night I get the munchies. I think it's great that you have something you can eat but you know how many and are in control of it.

I am going to check out that calorie counter - it sounds awesome!

Hey chickie, you are doing so well in perservering even when you aren't seeing huge results.

I find I feel much better these days, not as sluggish...because of exercise and cutting out carbs! But what works for me may not work for everyone.

Keep up the good work!

Kelley, you know, I dont have any clue how my name came about. All I know is if I had blonde hair I would be Jennifer and brown hair I would be Kelley. (I have brown hair, obviously).

I dont even know how my parents met. I should ask more questions.
