Do NOT try this at home

well unless you would like to look like a skunk, a dirty skunk at that. I tried to highlight my hair today and.....yeah....things didn't go very well. I have washed and blow dried my hair 3 times today. I dyed it my regular color first, blow dried it, then put some highlights in it and they weren't dark enough which I didn't realize until after I blow dried it. Soooo I put more highlighting stuff in to make it a little lighter. The goal here was to have chunky highlights. Well my hair has a lot of red tint to it so I have to watch that when I dye it. Yeah, now I have
O-R-A-N-G-E highlights. Not attractive. I am not dying it anymore today since it seems like that's all I gotten done today. I will dye it back to my normal color tomorrow.

I think I got a little too brave. I quit going to my hair girl and started dying my hair myself and things were going great. Even my hair girl liked the color of my hair. I thought hmmm spring is coming so lets add a little glam to it. Now I know that I need to stop at the main color and go back to the hair girl for the highlights.

I learned my lesson. Don't follow in my footsteps.

Been there, done that.

Cost me $100 to get it fixed last weekend. :(

I feel your pain.

Lol. I once had the blonde on top, black on the bottom hair style, and had the genius idea to just dye it all blonde. I'd dyed it all blonde the same way previously, so I figrued I'd be okay, but no. My head was orange, with black stripes. I looked like Tony the Tiger. I feel your pain.

You should post a pic. :)

haha! We all have stories like this. Don't worry, you'll laugh about it in a few weeks, I promise. :)
I went from dark brown to completely blonde (by myself) in high school... I'm sure you can imagine...

hehe I want to see pictures!!! I love it. Hair creativity at its finest. I put in pink streaks once, and loved it. Well, my hair person did it, not me. I KNOW I'd mess things up.

I'm here as part of the SITS Welcome Wagon! I've been with SITS for quite a while now.

I've read so many fun blogs, met so many amazing women, and really enjoyed the blogger support system they have set up.

Tiffany and Heather, the founders, are really great. Welcome to the group, SITSta!

lol! I have been wanting to do my highlights, because how hard can it be.... I guess I will keep paying way to much $$ to "my girl"! I'm glad you have fixed it!

You have to wash it out as soon as you can with dish soap...like a LOT of times!
